NEW DELHI/JHANSI, FEBRUARY 15

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today warned those behind the Pulwama terror attack will have to pay a heavy price and stated that security forces were given a free hand to act at a time when expectations are running high, with people seething with anger.

While stating he respected the sentiments of those criticising his government, the PM requested that “in this sensitive and emotional hour, everyone should refrain from political mudslinging and send a message to the world of speaking in one voice that the country is fighting a war against terror to win.

Presenting a picture of unity, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi joined PM Modi and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman in paying homage to those felled by placing wreaths on the bodies of the CRPF soldiers at Palam airport this evening.

Without naming Pakistan, PM Modi said India’s neighbour, that remains isolated in the world, is in a state of illusion if it thinks of demoralising India with its dastardly act and nefarious designs.

“Let me state categorically it should stop dreaming of destabilising India,” he said, adding that the country that is in a state of economic despair must know that  attempts aimed at hurting India are destined to fail and will be foiled. — TNS
