Will give reply in poll if demands not met: Front

The members threatened that with the Lok Sabha poll drawing near, the pensioners would show their anger against the ruling government in the state if their demands were not accepted soon.

“We were supposed to get the dues in four instalments from January 2017 onwards but the government is not releasing the amount. The recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, 2016, have been ignored. At this stage, we are being forced to come on roads and hold a protest demanding our dues. We are not able to bear our medical and other day-to-day expenses. This is injustice and disrespect for the elderly lot of the state,” said convener of the front Mahinder Singh Parwana.

Co-convener Prem Sagar Sharma said: “Ahead of the Shahkot bypoll in May this year, ministers and Congress leaders approached the front and made promises for our welfare but nothing has been done.”
