The police arrested a parole jumper and seized two country-made pistols and nine cartridges from him on Thursday night. The parole jumper, identified as Pawan of the district’s Rajlu Garhi Bhogipur village, is a life term convict.
He was sent to judicial custody on Friday.
During preliminary interrogation, Pawan reportedly told the police he was lodged in the district jail, Yamunanagar, after he was sentenced to life imprisonment in a 2007 murder case. He was released on 40 days’ parole last year, but did not return.
He reportedly confessed to have looted a car near Ganaur and firing at a liquor vend in January this year.
