Paraglider owner held from Manali

The police arrested Budhi Singh, the owner of a paraglider, from Shanag village in Manali last evening.

The accused was running a paragliding service illegally, putting life of tourists at stake. Paragliding and river rafting are banned in Kullu district till September 15.

On August 10, the accused hired Joginder of Uttar Pradesh for paragliding illegally. As a result, the paraglider crashed in which a 25-year-old tourist Lakha Chandra Shekhar Reddy of Hyderabad was killed.

SP, Kullu, Gaurav Singh said the accused had been arrested while the pilot, who is undergoing treatment at local hospital, was also booked.

He said no one would be spared for defying orders of the district administration.
