The Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) will send notices to those who failed to construct houses on their plots.

Besides, the HSVP will also send notices to those who indulged in illegal construction. All junior engineers and subdivisional officers have been told to submit a report of the violations in the city.

Confirming it, Ashutosh Rajan, Estate Officer, HSVP said as per the 2013 policy of the state government, a fine of Rs 25 per sq metre would be charged from those who failed to construct houses within three years of the allotment of plots.

He said plot holders would have to pay Rs 40 per sq metre for the next three years while the fine would increase to Rs 60 per sq metre for the subsequent three years. He said after this, Rs 100 per sq metre would be charged and after the completion of 14 years, the fine would be doubled. Besides, plot holders will also have to pay 14.5 per cent service tax on the penalty.

Rajan said reports were being prepared about the illegal construction in the city. He said some of the people have got the maps approved for the ground floor but illegally constructed the second floor without getting the approval from the HSVP. He said there were 1,189 plots located in the MDC Sectors 2 and 4, Sectors 21 and 25 to 28. He said these plots were allotted about 12 years to 21 years ago.

Estate Officer Rajan said cases were also being registered against those who encroached upon the HSVP property. He said already two cases had been registered against the encroachers.
