Chandigarh, July 13

The closure report filed by the CBI in three cases of sacrilege has created a stir in the political circles. SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal demanded that the report be withdrawn and investigation be taken to its logical conclusion.

Terming the development as unfortunate, Sukhbir said the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib at Bargari had shocked the entire Sikh community. “This is not an ordinary crime, but one which has emotional ramifications. The SAD is committed to ensure the culprits responsible for this heinous crime are exposed and brought to book as it concerns the community at large,” he said.

Aman Arora, AAP MLA from Sunam, raised serious concerns over the matter. Arora said the state government, police, SIT, inquiry commissions and even the CBI had miserably failed to solve the cases.

“The previous Akali-BJP as well as the present Congress governments have been playing politics by exploiting the sentiments of people for their nefarious political motives,” he alleged.
