Fosters interest of students

The trend of e-learning is growing exclusively in all educational institutions. But somehow, students find problem in using it. Its relevant usage can be promoted if teachers send the link of the research articles, videos, question papers, stories or novels related to their course of teaching which matches the calibre of the whole student group. Apart from this, demonstrations can be given in the class with the practical knowledge, which will foster the interest of the students in e-learning.

Curate suitable learning courses

Educational institutions can help the students by integrating e-learning to existing class pedagogy. Moreover, they can curate suitable e-learning courses as per learning objectives. In nutshell, they can utilise e-learning for self-guidance and classroom sessions for simulations or practical application. This will enable the students to have access to updated content whenever they want it.

Ensure optimum use of Internet

The internet has taken a prominent place in our day to day lives, there is no area which remains untouched by this technology. In the past few years, education has also received a major boost with regard to e-content and e-courses. The educational institutions can promote these by installing smart- boards in their classes with all the information regarding the syllabus preloaded on it. They can also promote e-learning by teaching the students in how to properly use the internet to gain information and knowledge about anything and everything.

Promote e-learning at tuition centres as well

e-learning has proved to be the next step in the development and the advanced educational system. It is increasingly becoming a way of providing quick delivery of lessons to the students. But till now, some of the students came to know about them personally. At many educational institutions, students can take advantage of the latest technology. Students can themselves choose to study specific and relevant areas of the learning material without focusing on each and every area. The students should individually know the platforms of e-learning. The online mode of learning should be promoted in tuition centres as well.

Suits everybody’s needs

Today’s learners want relevant, mobile, self-paced, and personalised content.  This need is fulfilled with the online mode of learning. Here, students can learn at their own comfort and requirement. Online learning accommodates everyone’s needs. This method of learning is best suited for everyone.  Online educational courses can be taken up by office goers and housewives too. Unlike classroom teaching, with online learning you can access the content an unlimited number of times. This is specially required at the time of revision when preparing for an exam. In e-learning people can attend the lectures whenever they want with ease. A prime benefit of learning online is that it makes sure that people are in synchronisation with modern learners.  e-learning is cost effective as compared to traditional forms of  learning. e-learning helps in retaining information for a long time. It results in improved scores on certifications, tests, or other forms of evaluation. It also helps in creating and communicating new training, policies and concepts

Make e-learning a compulsory part of curriculum

The use of e-tools is gaining importance in ever body’s life, including their profession, business and day-to-day living. Therefore, all efforts must be made to popularise them starting from the schooling stage of individuals. All the educational institutes must greatly help the students in using e-learning tools. Starting from the school level, the institutes must fix a period every day in the time-table to teach students about e-tools so that the students become conversant about them and then follow them up in later part of life, Like-wise, the colleges must continue this exercise and make it compulsory for the students to learn about these tools at higher level. The Education Department must play its role and make the subject a compulsory part of the education both at the school and college or university level. For making the programme a success, the institutes must recruit qualified staff and funds must be provided for the purpose.

Helps reduce burden of students

E-learning is adopted by the institutes because it is a fast as well as an easier and better way of learning as well as gaining knowledge. It is becoming more famous among students as they have become tech friendly. It is an effective way of studying. Now, the students need not worry about notes and carrying textbooks to institutions or colleges as they get all notes online. This also facilitates cross-cultural exchange of knowledge among students in many ways. The institutions teach students through PowerPoint presentations, live internet discussions, video instructions and expert professors. e-learning helps in communicating better ideas and concepts.

Transforms way of imparting knowledge

Educational institutions play a very important role to educate students. Now-a-days students have more interest in using technology (mobile phones, laptops). The different kinds of apps such as BYJU’S, topper learning and many more help students gain a high degree of knowledge. Visual things are learnt more quickly.  So, it is the fastest and easiest way to learn concepts.

Helps students make assignments effectively

e-Learning offers the ability to share material in all kinds of format such as videos, slideshows, word documents and PDFs. Students should be encouraged to prepare assignments and also to submit the assignments online as well.  Constructive and personalised feedback should be given on assignments. This will demonstrate to students that the instructor is indeed involved and engaged in the course. Easy access to resources like library resources, writing skill support and time management institution should be provided by the institutions. Academic counselling and career service support or counseling should be provided to the students so that they can be encouraged and motivated enough to use e-learning tools effectively. Moreover, it is the collective responsibility of the teachers and the institutions to encourage the students to use online sources judiciously.

Make E-learning tools available free of cost

Online learning typically means delivering all or part of a course digitally whether in school or distance learning or training course. It improves their visualisation and understanding capacity. Teachers should teach a particular topic and after making them understand the concept, they should the assign the work to them. To make it more interesting, they should conduct quiz sessions. Educational institutions should allow e learning tools to be free and available to all students and must avail discount to all of the students. E learning apps like byju’s help students to learn about  different subject at a time and clear their doubts. Kindle for reading is also an other options for readers who can read books with cheaper price. In e learning apps a single thing can be revisied multiple times especially before exam.

Avoids wastage of paper

The 21st century is witnessing the advent, use and importance of information and technology. In every sector, we have started making use of information. Various e-learning apps are now available online. The students must be technology savvy and should make use of e- learning to extract maximum benefits out of the technology. These institutes must convert course curriculum into e-learning to make easy and simple for students. Various class tests and exams must be conducted through e-learning technology. There must be a mandatory rule to get knowledge and information through e- learning techniques. It will not only be cost effective but will also save time. State as well as the Central Government should develop techniques which would enable e- learning available to students. The wastage of paper can be avoided with the use of e-learning techniques. Parents, teachers and ealders must help to use the methods of e-learning.

Helps students in grasping knowledge

Online learning accomodates everybody’s needs. The students can also compare their performance withthe students from all over the country.

With the growth in technological world, e-learning is one essential thing that every student should be well aware of. Whatever things we learn sitting in a classroom, can be learnt online too.

Educational Institutions should help students in knowing it’s benefits, should guide them well how to use it, when to use it etc.e-learning can help students a lot in grasping knowledge.

e-learning not a substitute to teachers

Today’ s era is an era of technology and advancement. So, it becomes essential for a student to keep himself updated with e-learning tools to pace up with the contemporary world. As far as the students from metropolitan cities or urban areas are concerned, the students are sufficiently equipped and trained with e-learning tools. Most of the schools in these areas have smart class rooms which form the basis of e-learning. But the problem lies in the case of rural areas where either the technology has not reached or the students are not aware about it. A lot needs to be done to educate the rural students about the e-learning techniques. Special funds should be created by the educational institutes for the purpose of providing e-learning. The students should be encouraged to make use of the e-learning techniques. The uninterrupted power supply should be assured to rural areas so that there is no hindrance in the process of e-learning. The teachers too should be trained enough to use e-learning techniques. e-learning is just a facilitator in learning. It can never replace a physical teacher.

Education for all

Fruitful results have started coming out of the use of technology. Education, which was approachable to only who can afford them have now reached to every single person. All barriers of gender, age, place, and economical background have become things of the past. Educational institutes can play a vital role in promoting such platforms. Limitless merits can be gained. Different and interesting methods of teaching, new researches and updates, better and depth understanding of concepts are few to mention here. In the long run, it is students who are going to get reward with e-learning. If students are clear about their subjects they are going to feedback to society in a better way.

Time for visual learning

Educational institutions are the best platform to start a trend, to inculcate values and to implement new and advanced technology. In the tech-savy era, the field of education has evolved and advanced to the level of e-learning. Byju’s learning app and many others are innovative methods to make students learn the concepts practically and through life examples. Schools can make students learn from el earning apps by giving individual topics for presenting in the class. This will result in better understanding and learning. Also, for teaching difficult topics teachers can also make students understand them through smart screens in classrooms. Learning online also prevents boredom and gives studying an exciting angle. Visual memory is an important aspect which comes when we learn through videos and this also stays for a longer time.

Sanskriti Verma

Effectiveness

Educational institutions should introduce students with the e-learning tools, tell them how to use it and what benefits they will get from using it. As doing everything online is the latest and prevailing system of the society. Therefore, using e-learning tools will keep students up to date with the society and students will also get to know about the innovation in the society.

Take a break from traditional system

Today’s era of virtual world, learning has completely transformed the way in which learning is imparted to students. There is a need to take a break from traditional methods of learning and create the interests in students to learn in a better way. Instead of notebooks and pens or pencils if there would be techno related stuff like laptops, tablets, mac books etc this will create more interest in students towards study. Schools and Colleges must use smart class in their daily routine other than oral lectures and instead of providing written notes to the students , teachers must provide students with pdf’s and power point presentations for field related work and for notes. This will enhance the capability of students to do work in a dedicated manner. There are many platforms of e-learning through which one can get information and better process of learning as they can play and pause the videos uploaded by the websites and students can understand the topic more well and better then they used to do in classrooms.

Good infrastructure to serve the purpose

In an e-permeated world, education, like many other sectors, has rapidly adopted digital advances. A lot has changed over the years. The social context of learning is increasingly shaped by digital media and together with personal ownership of various devices influences expectations and modes of exchange, experts look to such advancements for great efficiency, continuous enhancement and an opportunity to find the right mix of educational tools to maximise the learning experience. For educational institutions, to help the students to use e-learning tools is not an automatic, rather a complex and multifaceted process that includes adoption of technology as well as curriculum inclusion, pedagogically-led and learner-centric approach, institutional readiness and teacher competencies.

Ravi Chander

Promoting Digital India in real sense

Digital India is impossible without online tools. e-learning is necessary in today’s era. It has become an important part of our life and educational institutions helps in providing platform to the students in e-learning. First of all , in order to learn these tools, basic infrastructure and trained teachers are required and many schools lack adequate facilities. Teachers should encourage the students in using these tools but keeping in mind the dangers of these tools. There should be one compulsory lecture on e-learning where teachers will teach the students about the advantages and disadvantages of these tools. Teachers should use PPTs in teaching pedagogy so that interest can be created among students. e-learning helps in saving time and reducing paper wastage. So it is necessary that students should well aware in using these tools.

Quick delivery of lessons

We are in that era when information and technology is ruling the roost. e-banking, e-trading and the business are carried out through electronic route. Education is also not aloof of e-learning. Various books and other reading material are available online. In this age of technology, books are being replaced by gadgets for leisure learning. Various advanced schools and colleges are converting their chalk and talk methods of teaching to e- learning and students are preferring e-learning tools over conventional books. Teachers must help students when they are getting any material through e-learning because every information may not be authentic. This a cost-effective way of studying.

A potential tool to promote efficiency

With changing times, the methods of imparting education too have changed. In these times of e-learning, students can very well employ the tools of e-learning that have a distinctive edge over the traditional  methods. Live instructions through live broadcasts work very well for  specialised curricula, especially in cases wherein the students are at a  location that is far from the teacher’s  location. Also, students from different areas can simultaneously learn  from live broadcasts. Video-conferencing is another effective tool  whereby students from different schools, different regions, can learn  and interact. Remote test administration, self-paced  learning, e-readers, virtual textbooks – the e-learning tools have the  potential to change the very techniques of education. Herein, schools  can play an important role by making e-learning accessible to the  students. Minna Zutshi
