One tests positive for dengue

Ludhiana, August 20

One person from Jawadi Khurd has tested positive for dengue. The patient tested positive at Mani Majra where he works.

The department is daily receiving three or four suspected cases of dengue at hospitals. Dr Ramesh, District Epidemiologist, said: “On Tuesday, we will visit the area the patient belongs to. We will conduct a survey of the area to find out if the patient contracted infection here or at his workplace.”

High-risk areas, such as Salem Tabri, Bahadur-ke-Road, Giaspura and Jalandhar Bypass, are regularly visited by the department and educative material is distributed among people to create awareness on the disease. — TNS
