Rajpal Yadav is currently serving 3 months’ imprisonment in Delhi's Tihar Jail for failing to repay a loan of Rs 5 crore which he had borrowed to produce a film. Now, reportedly, the actor-comedian made his debut on the prison’s stage with a comic act as part of a Kavi Sammelan (poets’ meet) programme for the inmates. As revealed by a jail officer, “His act was a laugh riot. There were several poets on the stage but Yadav made sure everyone laughed. Everyone was awestruck to see a celebrity on stage.”

Yadav is currently lodged in jail number 7. Also, the comedian is often seen talking to inmates and is working on a play for Christmas. Reportedly, Yadav along with his inmates, have planned to start a drama club in jail. Speaking about his conduct, superintendent of jail number 7, “Yadav’s conduct has been good. He has not made any demands or asked to be treated differently. He spends his time in the library. We treat him like any other prisoner.”

While performing on stage is nothing new for an actor like him but the actor may never have got an audience as captive as this one!
