Yamunanagar, February 15
The police have booked three persons on the charge of duping unemployed youths of Rs 15 lakh on the pretext of providing them with government jobs in the Ayush Department.
More than 100 youths were allegedly duped, but only 24 came forward to lodge a police complaint on November 15, 2018. The FIR, however, was registered after about three months — on Wednesday.
The FIR names Rambir Sharma of Bibi Pur Jattan village in Karnal district, Ratan Lal Saini of Sanghoi village in Karnal district and Naresh Kashyap of Rampur Majra village in Yamunanagar district as accused under Sections 420, 406, 506 and 120 B of the IPC.
One of the victims, Amit Kumar, of the district’s Chhallaur village said an organisation named Athrav Welfare Society had last year issued an advertisement in newspapers, asking job-seekers to contact its office here.
He said the accused, who were allegedly running the society, took ID proofs, blank affidavits and Rs 40,000 each from job-seekers, assuring them of a job of a coordinator in the Ayush Department.
