Governor Satya Pal Malik on Sunday snubbed the Kashmir-centric parties after they questioned his decisions and political statements, saying, “I am the Chief Minister too during the President’s rule”.
He slammed Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti for criticising him for making political statements.
“The Governor’s house is not only to play golf. If you abuse the government whose representative Iam here, someone has to reply to you,” the Governor told mediapersons in Katra on Sunday. “I am not only the Governor today but also the Chief Minister and I have to put forth the point of view of the government which I represent,” he said. “How is it politics?” he asked.
The war of words was triggered when the Governor’s administration granted divisional status to Ladakh. Omar and Mehbooba criticised him for ignoring the Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban beltand Rajouri and Poonch districts.
