Patiala, December 4

A three-member team from Japan visited the Patiala Municipal Corporation office today to discuss the process of solid waste management. The Japanese scientists would be participating in Investors Summit being organised by the state government in Mohali.

The trio said Japan has started processing solid waste and paddy straw with bacteria and waste water with enzymes.  They said they have made water of rivers, ponds and lakes fit for human consumption. The scientists added that they have developed a bacteria, which can turn paddy straw into a fertiliser within two months.
