Two sadhus die in Kaithal road mishap

KAITHAL: Two sadhus were killed in a road accident here on Monday evening. The deceased have been identified as Mohan Giri, alias Devdutt Puri (55), and Rohtash Puri (40).

Two sadhus were killed in a road accident here on Monday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Mohan Giri, alias Devdutt Puri (55), and Rohtash Puri (40).

As per information, both of them were coming to Kaithal on a motorcycle when a dumper hit them near Peoda gate on Jind Road here.

Mohan died on the spot while Rohtash succumbed during his treatment at Rajindra Hospital in Patiala. A team from Titram police station reached the spot and started the investigation.

Mahant Satyachetanpuri of Dera Baba Rangpuri said they had gone to a dera in Peoda village and the accident took place when they were returning to Kaithal. He said Mohan was his disciple and Rohtash was a follower of Mahant Darshan Puri of Masingan.

The police handed over the bodies to the kin of the deceased after autopsy. — OC
