Ludhiana: The 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev was celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm by the managing committee, principal, staff and students of Guru Nanak National College, Doraha. After the bhog of ‘Sehaj paath’, performed by students and staff, students recited the Gurbani in the form of a kirtan. Environmentalist Jaswant Zafar was the chief guest. He exhorted students to understand and imbibe the philosophy of Guru Nanak in their life. Winners of a turban-tying and ‘shudh Gurbani uccharan’ competition were honoured. Volunteers, who gave their bests services during an inter-zonal festival held in the college, were awarded mementoes and certificates by the chief guest. TNS
