Vigilance sleuths today nabbed an ASI of summon staff, Bathinda, red-handed while allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 5,000.

Varinder Singh Brar, SSP, Vigilance Bureau, Bathinda Range, said accused Tejinder Kumar had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant in a cheque bounce case to give a court notice to an accused. “The complainant had earlier given Rs 3,000. The accused again demanded Rs 5,000 from him. A trap was laid and the ASI was arrested,” the SSP said.
