Councillor highlights issue in House meet

Chandigarh, November 14

After Chandigarh Tribune highlighted the issue of cattle menace in these columns, councillor Shakti Prakash Devshali raised the matter in the MC General House meeting today.

Referring to the news items published in these columns on Thursday, he asked the Commissioner why the issue had not been resolved. “Why is the Municipal Corporation not keeping a check on stray cattle, which pose a threat to two-wheeler riders on city roads?” he questioned.

Commissioner KK Yadav told him that he would get it checked.

In the absence of a proper check, stray cattle menace is rampant in southern sectors and peripheries of the UT. Cattle can be seen roaming around on city roads, making it difficult for motorists to commute, especially at night. — TNS
