Ambala: The team of St Joseph School, Ambala, got second position in the state level inter-school band competition held in GMSS school, Kurukshetra. The chief guest of the function was ADC Parth Gupta, in which 17 teams comprising of boys and girls from various districts of Haryana participated. All teams were full of enthusiasm and performed their best. Director Kiran Bannerjee, Deputy Director Ashima Kiran Bannerjee, Sr Manager Abhijeet Bannerjee and Principal Amita Sachdeva congratulated the students and the Band Sir Mr Gurcharan Lal Singh for their efforts. 

Inter-university wrestling c’ship 

Hisar: All-India Inter-University Wrestling (Free-Style and Greco Roman) (Mens) Championship started in the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar today. A renowned wrestler and Arjuna Awardee Geetika Jakhar was the chief guest of the inaugural event. Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor presided over the function while Udai Chand, Arjuna Awardee, was the guest of honour on the occasion. Addressing the sportspersons, Geetika Jakhar said that we should strive to achieve excellence in our life.

MMPG College wins Youth Fest 

Fatehabad: MM PG College won the overall trophy of youth festival held at Jannayak Chaudhary Devi Lal Vidyapeeth Sirsa from November 11 to 13. The students of college showcased their talent in all 45 competitions including of dance, music, theatre, literary, fine arts and others. They won 30 medals in these competitions, said Dr Gurcharan Dass, principal of the college. He told that 1,200 participants of 38 colleges of the state, affiliated to Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, participated in these competitions. 

Awareness rally organised 

Kaithal: Students of all the three NSS units of the RKSD College under the coordination of their program officers SP Verma, Jaibir Dhariwal and Pooja Gupta organised an awareness rally in Kultaran and surrounding villages on the increasing issue of stubble burning. The main motive of this rally was to listen to the problems of farmers and make them aware of the ill effects of the practice. Principal Sanjay Goyal termed this move of NSS units of the college as commendable and called it a necessary step to save the environment. 

Sportspersons felicitated

Panipat: Principal of the Millennium School at Ansal on Wednesday felicitated the players of the school. Principal Amita kochar said that Bharat, a class tenth student bagged gold medal in 500 meter race in the age group of 14-17 year old, in the state level championship organised by the Haryana Roller Skating Federation at Gurugram. Bharat has been selected for the national championship which is scheduled to be held in Karnatka from December 26 to 30 at Belgaum of Karnataka. Besides, the principal felicitated girl players of tennis ball cricket team for achieving the champions trophy in the Inter-school Tennis Ball Cricket championship held in the MASD School recently. Akshita Bisht was felicitated for achieving the best woman of the tournament trophy. 

Dr Malik in charge of Hry NSS team

Sonepat: Dr Murti Malik, associate professor in Hindi Department of Bhagat Phool Singh Women University, Khanpur Kalan (Sonepat) has been chosen by the NSS Regional Centre, Delhi as the contingent in charge of Haryana NSS team participating in 10-day North Region NSS camp to be held from November 15 to 24 in Chitkara University at Rajpura in Punjab. According to Dr Ravi Bhushan, PRO, University, around 200 NSS volunteers from eight Northern states will participate in the camp. University's Vice-Chancellor Prof Sushma Yadav congratulated Dr Murti Malik for shouldering the responsibility.
