Two thieves decamped with about 25 tola of gold ornaments and Rs 15,000 from the house of a dairy owner in Dhandari this evening.

Narinder Singh, dairy owner, said around 5 pm his wife went to the dairy situated near the house and left the main gate opened. Two thieves entered the house and stole cash and gold ornaments worth several lakh lying in an almirah. His wife also left the almriah open.

Narinder said when his wife returned home after 10 minutes, she saw two youths, whose faces were covered, come out of the house and flee. Although she raised the alarm, they escaped.

A bike-borne person was reportedly waiting for the two thieves near the house. He was captured on a CCTV camera. His could not be identified as he, too, had covered his face.
