Ludhiana, November 14
To observe Children’s Day and celebrate the completion of two years of pre-primary classes Bal Melas were organised in government schools.
Various competitions such as handwriting, declamation, paragraph writing were organised for primary classes while for the pre-primary classes both entertaining and educative programmes were organised. Story-telling, poem-recitation, fancy dress competitions were held.
Sukhdir Sekhon, Head, Government Primary School, Sukhdev Nagar, said today various competitions and activities were organised for the pre-primary and primary students. The admission procedure for the pre-primary classes also started today.
“Teachers should not take the students of pre-primary classes lightly. They should handle them with care and invoke their interest in academics in a playful manner so that they are eager to learn more,” said Sekhon.
In Ludhiana, around 20,400 students are enrolled in the pre-primary classes in this session. Compared to last year the number has increase considerably. — TNS
