Venus Art Theater (Regd), Bathinda, is organising three-day Tony Batish Kala Utsav from November 15 to November 17 at Government Rajindra College in the city.
On November 15, book exhibition will be inaugurated at 10.30 am and at 12 pm, a play ‘Jin sach pale hoya’ directed by Ikatar Singh will be played. Street plays, which include ‘Wahingi’ directed by Ramesh Ranjit, ‘Eh lahu kisda hai’ by Parjesh Kapil, ‘Dogla’ by Satpal Banga and ‘Makarjal’ by Kulbir Malik will be staged at various places in the city.
At 6pm in the evening, sufi sangeet will be performed by Saleem Sikander and Raza Heer. At 7 pm, a play named ‘Waiting for god’ will be staged and play ‘Suhi saver’ will be staged at 8 pm.
On November 16, book exhibition would be held from 10 am to 8 pm and street plays, ‘Pradafash’, ‘Arsh to farsh tak’ and ‘Narco test’ will be staged at various places in the city. At 5.30 pm, Baba Beli and Ahin Wani Watish will perfoming sufi sangeet. At 7 pm, a play “Firdosh” will be staged.
On the last day, a ‘kavi darbar’ will be held from 10.30 am, in which Dr Surjit Patar, Vijay Vivek, Jaswant Zafar, Pal Kaur, Neetu Arora, Jaspal Ghai, Swami Sarabjit, Manjit Puri, Jagwinder Jodha, Balkar Aulakh, Harmeet Vidhiarthi, Gurtej, Swami Antar Nirav and Anil Aadam will take part. At 6.30 pm, a documentary on the life of the Tony Batish will be screened. At 7 pm, a play “Adha Adhura” would be staged. — TNS
