Man protests harassment of daughter, ‘stalker’ attacks him

A man was injured after an alleged stalker, teasing his daughter, attacked him after he objected to his act.

The victim stated to police that he, along with his family, had gone to Ranjit Avenue ground where a fair was held five days ago. He said an unknown person started teasing his daughter to which he objected and asked him to refrain from this. He alleged that the accused entered into a verbal dual and attacked him with a sharp weapon, leaving him injured. He said he chased the accused but he fled away on his bike.

After taking his medical report, he lodged a complaint with the Ranjit Avenue police against the unknown stalker. The police registered a case under Section 323 (causing hurt), 354 (stalking) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
