CJI office under RTI? Apex court decides today

NEW DELHI:Does the office of the Chief Justice of India come under the ambit of the Right to Information (RTI) Act? A five-judge Constitution Bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi will pronounce the judgment at 2 pm on Wednesday.

Does the office of the Chief Justice of India come under the ambit of the Right to Information (RTI) Act? A five-judge Constitution Bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi will pronounce the judgment at 2 pm on Wednesday.

The Bench, which also includes Justice NV Ramana, Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Deepak Gupta and Sanjiv Khanna, will adjudicate on petitions challenging the Delhi High Court decision declaring that the CJI’s office was amenable to the transparency law. — TNS
