To mark the 550th Gurpurb celebrations, Dubai-based philanthropist SPS Oberoi opened the 50th subsidised pathological lab under the aegis of his Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust at Gurwara Singh Sabha here on Tuesday.
He also donated an ambulance. Oberoi is also laying a 3-km water pipe, stretching from the T-point from where the corridor branches off to Pakistan, to ensure devotees get potable water. He is also installing 20 RO plants and filters along the entire distance of the water pipe.
The lab was inaugurated by Cabinet Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. — TNS
NGO distributes one lakh books
Chandigarh, November 12
Punjabi Sath, an NGO, set up a stall named ‘Kitaban Da Langar’ and distributed 1-lakh books on the life and teachings of the founder of Sikhism at Sultanpur Lodhi to mark the 550th Gurpurb.
Written in Punjabi, Hindi and English, books like ‘Jagat Gur Baba’, ‘Nanakta’, ‘Guru Nanak- the divine master of universe’, and ‘Satgur Nanak Pargatya’, etc were distributed. — TNS
