IIT organises workshop

The Indian Institute of Technology  (IIT), Jammu, organised a workshop on innovative construction materials and structures (ICMMM- 2019) at Hotel Radisson Blu. The inaugural session was attended by KK Sharma, former Adviser, who was the chief guest on the occasion. DP Lal, Executive Director, IRCON, J&K, was the guest of honour. Prof Manoj S Gaur, Director, IIT, Jammu presided over the function.

Sports event of CLUJ 

The weightlifting and power lifting championship for men and women was organised by the Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) at GGM Science College. The Government SPMR College of Commerce secured first position while GGM Science College and Government MAM College finished second and third, respect6ively.In power lifting championship too, the SPMR College of Commerce emerged as champion with 30 points, whereas Government MAM College and GGM Science College stood second and third, respectively with 20 and 8 points. Both tournaments were conducted under the supervision of Dr Vinod Bakshi, sports coordinator of the cluster university.

ABVP welcomes verdict

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has welcomed the unanimous verdict on Ram Janmabhoomi case by a five-Judge Bench of the Supreme Court. ABVP national general secretary Ashish Chauhan said, "This is a historic verdict. The ABVP wholeheartedly welcomes the decision. Every Indian should welcome this verdict and move forward." 

Sample question papers 

The students are benefitting from the sample question papers being released by the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) for the upcoming Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry's National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) test which will be held on November 17, 2019. A total of 1,068 scholarships will be awarded in 2019, wherein an amount of Rs 12,000 per annum, will be given to each selected student of a government school.
