Quiz on Dr Kalam gets huge response

BATHINDA: A quiz competition in memory of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam organised at the Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI) received an overwhelming response.

A quiz competition in memory of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam organised at the Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI) received an overwhelming response.

Around 3,000 students from the region participated in the competition. Students from matriculation, secondary, graduation and polytechnic colleges from north India participated in the quiz. 

After various rounds of the quiz, four teams from each category were shortlisted for the finale. After the last round among the teams of Class X, AV Public Senior Secondary School, Fazilka, bagged first position and Baba Farid Public Senior Secondary School, Bathinda, got second position. Among Class XII students, Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Sri Muktsar Sahib, bagged first position while the team of Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Bathinda, got second position. The teams of DAV College of Education, Abohar, and DAV College, Malout, bagged first and second positions, respectively, in  category of graduation students. In the category of polytechnic colleges, the team of Maharaja Aggarsain Institute of Technology, Abohar, bagged first position and the team of Government Polytechnic College, Kotakpura, bagged second position. Each first and second team got Rs 11,000 and Rs 5,100 respectively. Teachers, who accompanied teams, were also honoured with mementos.

Dr Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman of the BFGI, honoured the winning teams. He congratulated the winners and appreciated the entire management team for the successfully organising the contest. He said besides the classroom curriculum, co-curricular activities were important for the overall development of students.
