‘Acting is my passion’

What are the prominent shows you have done so far?

I debuted with Season 2 of Sadda Haq and then I have done shows like Saathiya, Nagarjuna, Naagin 3 and Vish. 

You changed the spelling of your name. What was the reason behind it? 

Initially, my sister did that for herself and then she asked me to do it as well. 

Do you think numerology helps?

It definitely brought a lot of positivity within me, which I could feel. 

What got you into acting?

I belong to a place called Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh. My elder brother Sanket Chouksey is also an actor. I have always been inclined towards creative things. 

Did you have a plan to pursue acting?  

Actually no! Though it has always been my passion but I did my MBA from Indore and in 2013 started a job in a bank. In 2015, I left the job and enrolled myself in Anupam Kher’s acting school. I was jobless for a year before getting my first acting assignment in Sadda Haq Season 2. 

Because your brother is already in this profession, was it easy for you to convince your family? 

He being in the industry indeed helped me a lot. Luckily, my family has always supported me in my decisions. And when I was working in the bank, I had saved a bit, which helped me during my struggler days. 

What difference do you see in doing a TV show and a web series?

The difference is there for sure. For web series, you always have different locations for shoots, unlike television. The shooting experience is also different. The techniques, the atmosphere everything is different. 

You are doing Ishq Aaj Kal. Tell us about your role. 

Every character has its own journey, which we can see. When this character was narrated to me I was excited. As an actor, you always search to play a character that has a lot of potentials and does not have boundaries. I can say Ejaz is that kind of a character. My character initially started with a grey shade and gradually turned positive and now in 4th season am playing the lead and looking for revenge for my murdered brother.
