Muktsar, November 4
Almost 48 hours after a “speeding” BMW car hit a motorcycle, leaving three persons dead near Buttar Shrinh village on the Muktsar-Bathinda road on Saturday night, the police are still clueless about the car's owner.
When the accident took place, four youngsters, all waiters, were returning from their work in Abohar. They were pushing a motorcycle after it ran out of fuel.
Three of them died on the spot while the fourth person was admitted to a hospital with multiple injuries. However, the occupants of the car managed to escape after removing the registration number plates of the vehicle.
Investigating officer ASI Pala Singh said, “We are trying to trace the culprits. Hopefully, we will arrest them soon.” A broken number plate of the car, which was recovered by some local residents near the spot on Sunday, revealed that the vehicle had the registration number of Chandigarh.
However, the police suspect that the culprits belong to Bathinda district.
The deceased have been identified as Ranjit Singh, Gurwinder Singh of Kothe Chhapdiwale and Jaswinder Singh of Bhallaiana village.
