Ansh Anand selected for national chess competition

LUDHIANA: Ansh Anand, a student of Class VIII at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar branch, has been selected to represent Punjab in the National Schools Chess Championship.

Ansh Anand, a student of Class VIII at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar branch, has been selected to represent Punjab in the National Schools Chess Championship.

Ansh along with nine other students (U-14) from all over the state attended the selection trials conducted by the School Games Federation of India at Barnala on October 31 wherein he gave excellent performance to get selected in the Punjab contingent for the national championship slated to be held at Dadar and Nagar Haveli from November 6 to 10.

Members of the BVM Trust congratulated Ansh on his selection for the national competition and wished him good luck. Principal Bandana Sethi appreciated Ansh for bringing fame to the school. She also hailed his coach and head of the Physical Education Department, Baljeet Singh Gill.
