Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday charged former Congress president Rahul Gandhi of being allergic to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He advised Rahul to read the Ramayana to imbibe ethics to have a good level of politics.

Addressing an election rally at Chhainsa village in support of Sohan Pal Chokkar, the BJP candidate from Prithla, Rajnath spoke in detail about the Rafale deal.

Upset over the continued attack by Rahul, Rajnath said the Congress government toyed with the move for more than 10 years, but Modi clinched the deal without wasting time to strengthen the Air Force.

Had India possessed Rafale aircraft earlier, Indian soldiers would not have been required to cross the border to carry out surgical strikes as these aircraft were capable of eliminating terrorists from Indian soil, he asserted.

He said while Rahul was out on bail in a corruption case, how could the Prime Minister be accused of corruption. He exhorted Rahul to read the Ramayana if he did not know how to indulge in politics.

Accusing the Congress of internationalising the Kashmir issue, he said that BJP government scrapped Article 370 to ensure peace and security.

Claiming that India was among the top six economies of the world, Rajnath said the country was on its way to becoming a world guru.

He said Modi government launched numerous schemes to augment and expand basic amenities like roads, water and power and projects and benefit the common man.
