Model youth parliament begins

LUDHIANA: A two-day Model Youth Parliament (MYP) - 2019 commenced at the Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan on Friday. As many as 800 students participated in the event, which aimed at channelising the talent of the youth for creation of a new and better society.

A two-day Model Youth Parliament (MYP) - 2019 commenced at the Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan on Friday. As many as 800 students participated in the event, which aimed at channelising the talent of the youth for creation of a new and better society.

Gurdeep Singh Gosha, district president, Youth Akali Dal, was the chief guest at the function. He urged the youth to become ambassadors of scientific and technological culture and take the nation to further glory. He also requested the youngsters to serve their motherland rather than settling abroad.

The MYP activists said the first edition of the event was a huge success and evoked great response among the targeted sections. “The objective of the event is to have an exhaustive interaction with the youth to help them in moving beyond their limitations and realise their real capabilities, so that they could become agents of change in the country,” they added.

Sahil Arora, Paras Ahluwalia, Shivam Arora, Taranjit Singh, Nirbhay Singh and Babu were amongst the keynote speakers at the event. — TNS
