The local police have booked a person on the charges of carjacking near Bakarpur village here.

The accused, who told his name Dalip Kumar, made a cab driver, Narinder Kumar Solanki from Alwar, Rajasthan, his prey and took away his Ertiga and his mobile phone after making him unconscious by using drug-laced cloth.

In his complaint to the police, Narinder Kumar alleged that the accused hired his taxi from Alwar to Mohali. He alleged that they reached Mohali around 3.30 am on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. “On reaching near Bakarpur village, the miscreant came on the front seat and put a drug-laced cloth on my mouth following which I fell unconscious,” Narinder Kumar alleged.

The victim reported the matter to the police, which registered a case under Section 379 B of the IPC. — TNS
