The Arya College  (Girls Section), Ludhiana, organised a personal hygiene drive today. The drive is a part of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign. The idea is to promote awareness about personal hygiene amongst girls during menstruation. The drive emphasised on usage of sanitary napkins and their proper disposal. A sanitary napkin vending machine was donated by Lions Club, Ludhiana Greater, which will be installed in the college. The vending machine was made available by Nakesh Garg and Vandana Garg. Sanjeev Kumar donated the projector screen for the college students. Lady in-charge Suksham Ahluwalia talked about personal hygiene during menstruation and promoted the use of sanitary napkins and its proper disposal. TNS

Students excel in B.ed 2nd Sem result 

Students of the Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, came out in flying colours in the result of B.Ed (IInd semester May, 2019), recently declared by the Panjab University, Chandigarh. Harpreet Kaur secured the fourth joint position in the university by scoring 400/450 marks. Jyoti Mittal secured the fifth joint position by scoring 399/450 marks. Pushpinder Rekha bagged the seventh position, whereas Shilpa Jain and Jaspreet Kaur jointly claimed the eighth joint position by getting 396/450 marks. Harsimran Kaur secured 10th position by getting 394/450 marks. TNS

Session on innovation held

The CT University, under the flagship of Institution Innovation Council (IIC), established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, organised a workshop 'Innovate or Evaporate'. The workshop was conducted in two sessions by Munish Jindal, Founder-CEO, HoverRobotix and Vinod K Pandita, Founder-CEO, Perception Management Consulting Pvt. Ltd 'Percipent'. Jindal said, "HoverRobotix is all about innovation and passion. I also want the students to think out of the box and channelise their passion towards innovation." TNS

Lecture to beat stress 

The Career Counselling and Placement Cell of the Arya College organised an extension lecture in collaboration with an NGO Health, the Next. Naveen Aggarwal was the key speaker and representative from the organisation. He addressed the students on the topic of stress management and life management. TNS

Music workshop organised 

A two-day music workshop was organised at the Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana. The event commenced with 'Saraswati Vandana'. On the first day, minute technicalities of classical music were discussed by Prof Chaman Lal Bhalla. On the next day,  Principal Sukhwant Singh interacted with the students regarding technicalities of 'Gurmat Sangeet' and 'Ragaatamak Kirtan'. TNS
