Transport bodies to observe strike in Capital today

NEW DELHI:Commuters may face hardships in the Capital on Thursday as transport bodies have given a one-day token strike call against various provisions of the amended Motor Vehicle (MV) Act, including steep hike in penalties for various traffic related offences.

Commuters may face hardships in the Capital on Thursday as transport bodies have given a one-day token strike call against various provisions of the amended Motor Vehicle (MV) Act, including steep hike in penalties for various traffic related offences. 

United Front of Transport Associations office bearers on Wednesday alleged that both the Centre and the Delhi Government forced them to go for the strike. Many schools in the Capital will remain closed on Thursday. Many parents received messages from their children’s schools informing them that educational institutes will be closed on Thursday. — PTI
