Mystery shrouds the death of an NRI youth, Jagjit Singh of Chainpur village, who returned from Bahrain recently. The police arrested three persons when they were going to dump the body.

Those arrested have been identified as Navpreet Singh, Gurvinder Singh and their father Baldev Singh. They were booked for murder and disposing of the body to hide their crime on the complaint of his uncle Lakhwinder Singh.

The police said the matter was under investigation. They said they were awaiting the postmortem examination to ascertain the reason behind the death. His body was handed over to his family after autopsy.

As per details, Jagjit had given money to the accused. As he was about to return to Bahrain, he demanded his money from the accused. The police said they called him at Muradpur village where they took drugs.

According to complainant Lakhwinder Singh, Jagjit was the elder son of the family. The accused were his friends. Jagjit had returned from Bahrain a few months ago. It was his routine to meet them after his return from Bahrain. He was demanding money that the accused owed him. “At Muradpur village, Navpreet, Gurvinder and Jagjit took drugs. They had an argument over the issue following which they poisoned him to death,” he alleged.
