A delegation of Captain Amarinder Singh Transport Nagar residents on Wednesday met KK Aggarwal, Chairman, Bathinda Improvement Trust (BIT), and apprised him of the problems being faced by them.
They demanded completion of the pending development works in the area. The colony residents said they were deprived of basic facilities such as sewerage which was not linked to the main sewerage. They said the condition of internal roads and parks was very poor and streetlights were not functional. There is no proper entry and exit point in the colony due to which a lot of theft cases have been reported. Due to lack of basic facilities in the colony people were reluctant to build houses here. The residents demanded the completion of development works at the earliest. They also demanded that penalty for not constructing the houses should be waived.
Chairman of Bathinda Improvement Trust KK Aggarwal promised the delegation that development works would be completed soon and the penalty would be waived. He said the tenders for building roads had been floated and the work would be started soon. He informed the delegation that sewerage of the colony would also be linked with the main line. The delegation thanked the chairman for his assurances.
