Farmers to get merino sheep

UNA, SEPTEMBER 18

Rural Development and Animal Husbandry Minister Virender Kanwar today said the government had decided to provide merino sheep to sheep-rearing farmers.

Kanwar, who recently returned from Australia, told mediapersons here that the sheep was not only known for producing high quality wool, but the cheese, processed from its milk, was rich in food value.

Earlier, he distributed LPG connections to 130 beneficiaries. A sub-employment exchange had been sanctioned at Bangana and MA degree courses would be started at Govt College, Bangana, from the next session. — OC
