New Delhi, September 18

The Army has concluded an exercise in the Eastern Ladkah as part of its war games to ensure the safety and sanctity of the 823-km front Ladakh shares with China.

Exercise named ‘Chang Thang’ was conducted in what is classified by the Army as ‘Super High Altitude’ — in range of 14,000 feet to 15,000 feet. Ladakh has vast tracts of flat plateau. The exercise integrated troops of all arms and services and employment of tanks, helicopters, UAV and other high technology platforms.

Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh expressed confidence that Northern Command will continue to be ready for combat. The induction of new weapon systems and high-tech equipment, the capability and lethality of the Indian Army was progressively improving each passing day, he said.
