Day after a woman killed wife and daughter of her paramour in the Preet Nagar area in Mohkampura on Tuesday, the police have arrested deceased’s husband Devanand, an ITBP jawan, for allegedly conspiring with the prime accused, Kamlesh.

Devanand and his family were living on rent at Kamlesh’s residence. According to the police, he had provided the weapon to her for killing his 27-year-old wife Suman and five-year-old daughter Riya.

Confirming the development, Jagjit Singh, SHO, Mohkampura police station, said the police had also arrested Ram Tirath, husband of the accused, for helping her dispose of the body of the deceased.

The Mohkampura police had arrested Kamlesh within hours after the incident came to light. Initial probe revealed that Kamlesh had illicit relations with Devanand for the past three years. He was living on rent on the upper floor of the house.

Around six months ago, he brought Suman here for treatment. Recently, she came to know about the illicit relationship between her husband and Kamlesh, which led to frequent quarrels in the family.

On Monday night, she murdered Suman and Riya with a sharp-edged weapon and later, buried Riya in a nearby plot and threw Suman’s body near Bagh Kale Shah near her house.

The police found Suman’s body lying in the open on Tuesday morning. Local councillor Jaswinder Singh identified her. By the time the police reached Ram Tirath’s house, Kamlesh had left but was nabbed from the railway station, the police said.
