Man gets 10-year RI for minor’s rape

GURUGRAM: A local court today sentenced a local resident to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 for allegedly abducting and raping the minor sister of his wife.

A local court today sentenced a local resident to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 for allegedly abducting and raping the minor sister of his wife. If the convict fails to pay the fine, his imprisonment would be increased.

The miscreant was booked for abduction and under the POCSO Act in 2017 at Bajghera police station following a complaint by the victim’s father, a native of Bihar.

He alleged that the accused, the husband of his elder daughter, had abducted his minor daughter by luring her on some pretext.

An FIR for abduction was registered at Bajghera police station and after three days, the girl was rescued and the accused was arrested.

On the statement of the victim, Sections of POCSO Act were added to the FIR.

Today, the court of Raj Gupta, Additional District and Session Judge sentenced the accused to 10-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000.
