New Delhi, September 18
After being refused earlier, senior Congress leaders on Wednesday managed to meet former Finance Minister P Chidambaram who is lodged in Tihar jail for alleged corruption and money laundering.
Chidambaram was sent to police remand on September 5, and has since been at Tihar jail.
Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said, “We got the permission to meet P Chidambaram today and saw him in the Tihar jail Nain campus. He is keeping good health and is not getting any special treatment.”
Chidambaram’s son Karti also accompanied Azad and Patel to the meeting. Chidambaram was recently arrested by the CBI.
