Damaged road needs urgent repair

Roads are lifeline of cities which are made at the expense of public and government fundings. Chandigarh roads are crying for re-carpeting, not patching. The stretch from Sector 2 road to Sector 10 roundabout is in a bad shape and needs urgent repair. Fix uniform rates at all parking lots

The Municipal Corporation has rightly introduced parking charges at 64 lots for first four hours after the 10-minute free period. Now, there is a need to provide smart service in each parking lot. A service boy should be employed to manage parking lots. The monthly pass facility will be helpful to regular visitors as there will have to pay less. The decision to charge double the parking rates near the multiplexes and shopping malls is not justified. There should be uniform rates at all parking lots. Sukhpal Singh

Provide hassle-free parking to visitors

The MC  must ensure efficient management of parking lots by the contractors. The fee collector collects money at the entrance, but no one is present within the parking complex to guide the vehicle owners in getting proper space to park. People never mind paying for parking provided proper services are offered to them by the contractor concerned. While entering into an agreement with the contractor, the MC authorities should ensure that the contractor is heavily penalised, in case he/she fails to provide due services to the customers.
