MANDI: A massive fire destroyed the Matloda temple at the remote Juhi village in Seraj last night.

A massive fire destroyed the Matloda temple at the remote Juhi village in Seraj last night.

Superintendent of Police Gurdev Chand Sharma said the fire started late last night from the temple, which engulfed its wooden structure.

The area is not connected with road. As a result, the fire brigade authorities could not provide any assistance.

The SP stated that according to villagers, the cause of the fire might be burning of incense sticks on the premises. At the time of the incident, there was no one available in the temple.

The flames have caused losses estimated to be in lakhs.
