Food samples collected

Ludhiana: A food safety team, comprising Dr Andesh Kang, designated officer, and Food Safety Officer Yogesh Goyal, collected a total of 14 samples of milk and milk products on Gill Road, Islam Ganj, Dugri and Salem Tabri on Saturday.

Ludhiana: A food safety team, comprising Dr Andesh Kang, designated officer, and Food Safety Officer Yogesh Goyal, collected a total of 14 samples of milk and milk products on Gill Road, Islam Ganj, Dugri and Salem Tabri on Saturday. The team inspected vehicles returning after supplying milk and milk products to dairies, sweets shops and residential areas.  The samples collected include seven of milk, four of paneer, and one each of  gravy, curd and masur dal. The samples have been sent to the state laboratory for analysis. TNS

1-kg poppy husk seized, 1 held

Ludhiana: The Meharban police have arrested a person and recovered 1-kilogram poppy husk from him. The accused has been identified as Sultan Singh, a resident of Chuharwal village. The police said during a routine patrolling at Chuharwal village, a pedestrian was stopped for checking. During the search of his belongings, narcotics were recovered from him. The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act.  TNS

Two held with 15-gm heroin

The police have arrested two peddlers and recovered heroin from them in separate cases. In the first case, the police division number 5 arrested one Ansarul Ansari of Phullawal, and recovered 10-gram heroin from him. He was arrested from Manjit Nagar during a routine patrolling. In another case, the Model Town police arrested one Manpreet Singh of Ramsar Foji Mohalla with 5-gram heroin. TNS
