Moga, September 13

On the eve of 75th anniversary of the All-India Sikh Students Federation, the organisation vowed to work on the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib and dedicate its work to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

In a function held here today, the federation leadership appointed Jagroop Singh Cheema as its new president while former president Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad will act as a patron of the organisation.

Peer Mohammad remained the president for more than 20 years until he offered to stepped down last year. He joined the Akali Dal (Taksali), a breakaway group of the Shiromani Akali Dal. The federation leadership also appointed Prabhjot Singh of Faridkot as its general secretary. — TNS
