Ludhiana: Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management organised its fourth edition of Model United Nations (MUN) conference. As many as 154 students discussed revocation of Article 370, and recognition and protection of rights of LGBTQ+ community. Nirmit Ahuja and Tejas Kaur of BCom Sem-I bagged the best delegate award in the UNHRC committee, and Shivam Gulati of BCom Sem-III was announced the best delegate in the AIPPM committee.

Havan marks beginning of session

A havan was held to commence the new academic session (2019-2020) for BEd (General), BEd (Special Education) & MEd courses. Principal Monika Dua highlighted the achievements of the college in both academics and co-curricular activities.

Graphic-designing contest

An inter-class graphic-designing competition was held at Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan campus, Model Town, as part of the on-going golden jubilee celebration of the college. The event was organised by department of computer science and applications, in which more than 70 students from various streams of the college participated. Students designed captivating and effective posters, collages, bookmarks and badges based on the theme, Love, Service and Sacrifice. 

Seminar on Cyber Crime

Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Vocational Studies (GGNIVS) organised a seminar on cyber crime. Kamakshi Sharma, cyber forensic expert and a certified ethical hacker, was the resource person of the lecture. She told students about the importance of cyber security and the right use of technology. She discussed in detail the problems related to the increased use of internet.

PGDIB Semester-II results

Students of postgraduate diploma in international business (PGDIB) of Kamla Lohtia SD College have brought laurels to the institution by excelling in Semester-II examinations conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. Aashit Kumar secured first position in the university with 955/1200 marks. Nikhil Kumar Prajapati bagged second position in the university 944 marks, followed y Karan Kaushal with 907 marks.

MCom Semester-II results

Students of Government College for Girls have brought laurels to the institution by bagging positions in the merit list of MCom Semester-II examinations conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. Principal Manju Sahni congratulated the students and faculty members of the department on their achievement. Ridhika Gupta stood first in the college and eighth in the university with 83.28 per cent. Komal stood second in the college with 80.75 per cent, followed by Vandana Bhatia with 79.6 per cent.

Career counselling session held

The career counselling and placement cell of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, organised a seminar on ‘Campus to corporate interview skills’. The resource person  of the counseling session was Jaspreet Makkar, assistant Registrar, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College. She guided students how an efficiently written resume could make an individual successful in marketing yourself during your job search. TNS
