Ludhiana: Students of SCD Government College have displayed remarkable performance in MCom Semester-II examination conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. Namya Jain has stood first in the college and second in the university by scoring 1189/1400 marks. Priyanka Chawla, Kajal Gupta and Shaina Bhatia have secured second, third and fourth position in the college by scoring 1147, 1134 and 1133 marks, respectively. 

MCom Semester-II result

Deepak Kumar, a student of Kamla Lohtia SD College, has secured first position in the college and seventh in the university with 83.36 per cent. 

Kargil martyrs remembered

The NCC cadets of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women organised a seminar to highlight the bravery of Kargil heroes. On this occasion, the new cadets were enlightened about the war of Kargil and the martyrdom of Kargil heroes. The cadets were also acquainted with the role of the NCC in the army. Meanwhile, Ankita Jain, student of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women have brought laurels to the college by performing well in MCom Semester-II examinations. She has bagged first position in the college and 12th in the district by securing 81.07 per cent. Principal Sarita Bahl congratulated her on her brilliant performance. 

Mentor institution status for GHG

GHG Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar, has added another feather in its cap as it has been approved as a mentor institution by UGC, New Delhi, under the Pramarsh scheme for mentoring NAAC accreditation aspirant institutions to promote quality assurance in higher education. Sarbjit Kaur Ranu, principal of the college, applauded the efforts of faculty on this outstanding achievement. 

Visit to Photo Exhibition

Department of journalism and mass communication of Guru Nanak Khalsa for Women, Gujarkhan campus, Model Town, conducted a visit to a photo exhibition, One Thousand Words, organised by the Ludhiana Photo Journalist Association at Punjabi Bhawan. Students interacted with photo journalists of various newspapers. They learned about the process of composing a good journalistic photograph.

GCG welcomes MAKA trophy

The Government College for Girls welcomed the Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad trophy (MAKA) with great gusto and beats of dhol. A cultural programme was also organised in the honour of bringing home the trophy. Principal Manju Sahni expressed her happiness and said the hard work and untiring efforts of students have paid off.

200 attend start-up master class

The entrepreneurship cell of PCTE Group of Institutes organised a start-up master class to promote and foster start-up ecosystem in the region. Around 200 students from different departments attended the programme. 12 mentors from various start-ups and industry guided students regarding their business ideas. During the three-day workshop, students worked on idea generation and start-up formation.
