The Chandigarh Municpal Corporation has been claiming that the city will soon get 24-hour water supply, but the reality is that it has not been able to give even few hour regular supply to the city. After every 2-3 months, Kaujauli waterworks need repair due to technical snag. This shows that either the civic body staff are not efficient to handle the project or their machines are not up to the mark or their layout system is defective.
The administration should fix the responsibility of the officials concerned at the earliest.

Proposal to levy municipal electricity cess unjustified
The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation is considering to penalise honest residents, who pay electricity bills regularly. How about multi-million rupees due from defaulters who continue to evade payment since long time? The list of such defaulters include a large number of government and UT offices and also industrial, commercial and residential buildings, which are getting electricity supply regularly without having paid arrears for many years for no reason. I hope the civic body do not contemplate to levy electricity cess on honest people.
