The Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha (ABKM) welcomed the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35 A and called for ending the “misuse” of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities Act), 1989.
A two-day session of national executive of the Mahasabha ended at a hostel here today. Former Haryana MLA Satwinder Rana presided over the meeting.
Speakers expressed concern over false complaints filed under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities Act), 1989. The Mahasabha also called for passing a law for controlling the population. It reiterated its demand for higher political representation so that the community could be benefitted. The speakers highlighted social and political situation of the community and discussed methods by which it’s representation in all spheres could be increased, particularly politics.
It was resolved that a majority of the constituencies having considerably number of Rajput votes had been reserved for the last 40 years, thus these should now be de-reserved in 2020 delimitation. Earlier, a delegation met Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore.
