F&CC meeting today,14 items on agenda

The Municipal Corporation will have 14 items on agenda at its Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) meeting scheduled to be held on Monday. The meeting will be presided over by Mayor Balwant Rai Nath. It is expected to be important for the city as the committee may give its nod to several developmental projects, including laying premix on city roads and patchwork in six wards at a cost of Rs36 lakh.

Besides, a proposal for electrical work in Sanjay Nagar and Sanguana Basti ponds has also been included in the agenda. All these agenda items are likely to be passed in the meeting so that work order can be issued soon.

Proposals for laying premix in various streets of Ajit road area, in zone 4 of Pukhraj colony, in Gurudwara Chajju Singh Road area, Ganesha Nagar and Namdev Road will be taken up at the meeting. Apart from this, a proposal for construction of a footpath near the DAV pond at a cost of Rs82.77 lakh will be discussed. The committee will also dwell on patchwork in six wards in zone 1 at a cost of Rs35.46 lakh, maintenance of hi-mast lights at a cost of Rs3.82 lakh and contract of streetlight labour at a cost of Rs66.14 lakh.

Other proposal is construction of a cattle shed at the Harraipur cattle pound.

During the recently held General House meeting, councillors took up the issue of bad condition of roads in their respective areas.

At the F&CC meeting, the focus will be on recarpeting old roads in various parts of the city to pacify the councillors and irked residents.

Besides the Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor Tarsem Goyal, Deputy Mayor Gurinderpal Kaur Mangat, councilours and committee members Harmander Singh and Nirmal Singh Sandhu, along with MC officials, will be present at the F&CC meeting.
