A martyrs’ memorial constructed by Panun Kashmir in 2006 on the banks of the Chenab to remember people killed by militants since 1990s is in a state of neglect. It also highlights the present situation of the community, which is apparently failing to adapt with the changing political dynamics of the state. Nobody seems to carry out the necessary repairs and look after the site. The poor condition of stone plaque and iron railing show that the memorial lies forgotten.  Ashok Kaul, Barnai

No end to stray cattle menace

Stray cattle in Gorkha Nagar are creating lot of problems. Though a few people have dairy in the locality, some outsiders leave their cows and buffalos open. The municipal authorities should act against all such people. We have requested the civic authorities several times to check the menace, but to no avail. Nagesh, Gorkha Nagar

Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
